Master These Seven Principles and You'll Grow Your Business

If you're going to attract more prospects, you must market your services.  The main function of a business is to create new customers, and a good marketing game plan will allow you to do this effectively, efficiently and predictably.  Listed below are the seven principles as summarized from industry experts:

Principle #1: Marketing is a Game.  You've got to understand the rules of how to attract new prospects and not view it as a "one off" activity that is random in nature.  It is a systematic process that moves a stranger to a paying customer.

Principle #2: Marketing is a Mindset.  If you don't view marketing as a controllable, winnable, transformative approach to creating customers, you won't settle into a routine of habits that will drive your business forward.

Principle #3: Understanding the Marketing Language. Once you understand the language of "target market", "problem/challenge" and "outcome" of your prospects, you'll begin to think differently about your material and approach.

Principle #4: Creating a Powerful Message. If you 1) Direct your message to a target audience, 2) Focus on solutions, not services, 3) Hit a prospects "nerve", 4) Doesn't say too much and 5) Doesn't say too little, you'll win!

Principle #5: Develop Persuasive Marketing Materials. Marketing's job is to educate an interested party about how you solve problems.  This might include Case Studies, Benefits/Advantages, Background/Credibility and a Call to Action.

Principle #6: Determinng Marketing Strategies. There is a defined process that turns a prospects attention to becoming a paying client.  This process involves providing just the right amount of information that let's them get to know you.

Principle #7: Creating a Marketing Action Plan. Once the foundation is laid out above, the plan will consist of your 1) Your target market, 2) Price, 3) Strategy, 4) Objective, 5) Intended results, 6) Game plan, 7) Offers and Calls to Action and 8) Follow-up processes.
