I have spent the last 20+ years in the equipment business and was always curious and frustrated why leads and new customers were hard to create and manage. Add lean staffs today, disorganized customer databases or website/lead generation processes that aren't what they could be, we're at a very challenging, but exciting time to do more with less.
From sales, operations to VP/GM of Johnson Machinery, I always had a keen interest in sales, marketing, information, communication and the detail of why, and how, customers are created. We made it a commitment to being the first to be found, thought of, first to respond and best at managing information over the buying cycles of as many prospects as possible. This led to the design of a system that made it easy to manage and measure what worked, what didn't and why. We ended up being recognized nationally as a "best practice" dealership. I also also served as a two-term chairman of Hyster Company's Dealer Council Marketing Committee, and was responsible for chairing forums and speaking on the topics of marketing automation, database management and how to increase the awareness of a dealerships presence for their products and services. William, with his 14 years of experience in the Internet marketing industry, has gained extensive knowledge of all phases of Internet services and strategy: information architecture, quantitative analysis, systems development life cycles, Internet advertising, ecommerce, user interface design, and search engine optimization, his current area of expertise. William's background in scientific computing and information architecture provided the foundation for SpiderFX, a proprietary search engine for SEO, which contributed to WebpageFX's perpetual ranking as a Top 20 organic search engine optimization firm in the world, as ranked by TopSEOs. Prior to founding WebpageFX with Karie Shearer, William worked as a Portal Architect on a classified contract for the Department of Defense.
